"Evolution"

The changes that were made to the models face on the computer:
  • Made her neck longer
  • Moved her eyes
  • Made her eyes bigger
  • Darkened her hair
  • Made her shoulders smaller

In my opionion, it is not ethically ok to change someones appearance because they are trying to define beauty that doesn't really exsist, they are lying.

Under the circumstances it is worse then others. Changes that are ok is putting extra makeup, or fixing the hair. Changes that are not ok are comepletly changing what the person looks like.

Pulitzer Prize Winner

Edward T. Adams

Born: June 12, 1933
Eddie Adams won the Pulitzer prize in 1969 while working for the Associated press.

This picture shows a lot of emotion, and is candid. The focus and contrast is good, and it uses the rule of thirds.

Eddie Adams wasn't very proud of his picture that won the pulitzer prize because it only showed one side of the story. Adams once said: "The general killed the Viet Cong; I killed the general with my camera. Still photographs are the most powerful weapon in the world. People believe them; but photographs do lie, even without manipulation. They are only half-truths." Adams apologized to the general in the picture, for making him hated by the American people.

Adams was much more proud of his pictures that he took of Vietnamese refugees that sailed to Thailand in a 30-foot boat. These pictures persuaded the president, Jimmy Carter, to grant many of the Vietnamese boat people asylum.

I like this photo because it creates a calm mood, and because it makes it seem like it's from another time period.

academics shoot best & worst

BEST
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

  • In this picture, the subject is in focus, and it has a short depth fo field. This affects the photo by making the subject stand out
  • The frame is filled, and it is candid, but it doesn't show too much emotion.
  • the picture has good exposure, the subject isn't blurry, and it's not too dark or too light.
  • the advanced technique is simplicity.
  • In the future, I will make sure i'm using advanced techniques, and that my shutter speed is above 60.

WORST
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

  • The exposure is blury, but it's not too dark or too light anywhere.
  • There isn't really advanced techniques in this picture.
  • In the future, I will try to keep it in focus, and make sure i'm using advanced techniques.

I shot in a place that had good lighting, and i tried to get a candid, and close shot. After I shot, I used the film and made negatives, and once I got the negatives, I edited the pictures in the dark room, and tired to get it as in focused as possible, and then made the picture.

I think this is a good example of a candid photo, but it could have had more emotions, and it could have been closer.

DON'T shoot below 60

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This photo is probably blurry because the shutter speed was set under 60. To fix this, the photographer should have made sure the photo was set at 60.
